Principal’s Message

Hi Families!

It is such an exciting time right now.  It is walk-a-thon time! We want all families to feel a part of our walk-a-thon and one way to do that is to take a minute out of your day to register your child here.  Once you register, that is all we need for your student’s class to possibly earn a prize!   There are plenty of other class and individual prizes to be earned including the golden sneaker.

Part of what will make this successful is parent volunteer on the day of the event. Check out the PTA Konstella and consider signing up for a shift. It’s a lot of fun.  Together Everyone Achieves More!

If you would like to attend the English Learners Advisors Council (ELAC) meeting, it will be virtual tomorrow at 5pm.  Click here to register in advance.

Quick reminders about pick up and drop off.  First, please do not get out of your car for any reason at the car circle during drop off or pick up.  At drop off, it is stopping up traffic on Hans.  Secondly, the back parking lot is not meant for pick up and drop off.  It is dangerous for our students who walk and bike through that lot.  You should stop on Barbara Avenue.  As a T.E.A.M we want to keep all our Bubb Cubs safe.

Respectfully,

Principal Kobata

Better Together: September

This month, #BetterTogether explores identity and celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, which are both essential components of fostering inclusive and enriching schools in MVWSD. Recognizing and respecting the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities of students not only promotes a sense of belonging and allyship but also encourages a more comprehensive and meaningful learning experience for all. Hispanic Heritage Month, in particular, provides an opportunity to appreciate the rich tapestry of Hispanic/Latino cultures, their contributions to society, and the stories of Hispanic/Latino students within our own community. Celebrate with us this month! We are #BetterTogetherMVWSD. For more information about Better Together, visit mvwsd.org/BetterTogetherMVWSD.

Volunteer with MVEF!
MVEF needs 1-3 additional volunteers at each school in MVWSD. MVEF school representatives help the families at their school understand what MVEF is and why it exists so that they are inspired to donate and spread the word about the impact of MVEF funding. MVEF also needs volunteers to help with planning our annual Gala and other community events. To learn more, visit: https://www.mvef.org/volunteer

It’s almost here! The Walkathon is our biggest event of the year. We’d love to TEAM up with you to raise money for all sorts of awesome school things like library books, field trips, assemblies and more. Read more below on how to be part of our TEAM!

Walkathon!!

We are days away from one of the biggest events of the school year! Here's how it is shaping up:

  • We are at 25% of our goal. We need everyone to help raise money to make fun and important stuff possible for our students. Things like field trips, library books, Project Cornerstone and more. Please help us reach our goal of $55,000, which is about $150/student.Fundraise with your students now.

  • Volunteer sign ups are posted! Sign up to help - there are a myriad of ways to help at the event and we need LOTS of help to make it happen. Everyone should sign up for at least 1 shift at the actual event on September 29th!

  • It's that easy. Can't wait to see you there and enjoy some food, music and fun together while we support our wonderful school.

  • Contact Walkathon Chair, Christina Esfehani, with any questions ([email protected])

Excited About the Walkathon? Make Sure To Sign A Waiver

Each student needs a waiver signed to participate in the Walkathon. Waivers are available online, in the office, or ask your teacher. If you completed a waiver during back to school night or already sent back with your student then no additional action required (and THANK YOU!).
