Principal’s Message

Dear Families,

This week we are finishing up our grade level Spring Music Concerts.  Thank you, families, for your generous support of the Mountain View Educational Foundation--that is how we are able to have weekly art and music lessons for all of our students.  It has been so wonderful to see students on stage, showing what they have learned.  Public Presentations of Learning, such as music concerts, are important because they give students an authentic purpose for their learning.  Each grade level has had, or will have, at least one academic public presentation of learning as well this year, such as WilliamsBubb or Henny Penny revisions.

At Bubb, Public Presentations of Learning are a culmination of a learning unit, involve some reflection of what we have learned and how we have learned it, and include an authentic audience, some pomp and circumstance, and an opportunity for us to receive feedback that helps us grow.  If you are interested in learning more about how we were inspired to integrate more Public Presentations of Learning, check out the book, The Power of Moments.  It’s a great summer read and has helped me think of creating peak moments not just for our students, but for my own family as well.

Don’t forget to join us today, 5/15 @ 3:00 pm for our Volunteer Tea! We appreciate you and want to honor your work in making Bubb the special place that it is!

A Reminder about turning in this year's volunteer badges: Please turn in your volunteer badges to the front office between now and the end of the school year. This year’s badge will not work for next year.

Better Together: May

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the rich history, cultural diversity, and significant contributions of the Asian American Pacific Islander community to our society. It's an opportunity to celebrate the many achievements and the vibrant traditions that AAPI individuals bring to the fabric of our communities. As we honor this important month, it's also an excellent moment to reflect on the #BetterTogether theme of recognizing our own self-worth. Each of us, regardless of background, has unique strengths and an intrinsic value that contributes positively to our communities and the world at large. Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month reminds us to appreciate not only the diversity around us but also the value within ourselves, fostering a deeper understanding and respect for all. For more information about Better Together, visit mvwsd.org/BetterTogetherMVWSD.
