Principal’s Message

Hi Families!

We are striving to be designated a No Place for Hate school.  Our driving question is “What is respect and how do we show it to each other?”  We will be focusing on showing respect to everyone through kindness.

The Bubb community is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students where learning addresses the whole child.  Kindness is a powerful force that can transform not only individuals but entire communities.  Below are suggestions on how you can help at home:

  • Model Kindness: Show them how to treat others with respect, empathy, and understanding.

  • Practice Gratitude: Encourage your children to express thanks for the kindness they receive and to appreciate the people that make their lives better.

  • Celebrate Difference: Embrace diversity and teach your children the beauty of different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.

  • Set Boundaries on Technology: Encourage responsible digital citizenship and kindness online.  Discuss the importance of respectful online behavior.

Our world can be a challenging place and now, more than ever, we all need to practice kindness, compassion and empathy.

This Friday November 3 is the end of the trimester and will be a minimum day. All students will be dismissed at 11:55.  Report cards will go home electronically on November 17th.

Wow!  The day after Halloween doubled the number of tardies.  When your student is tardy, important instruction is missed.  Please get your students here on time.  In our Site Plan, we have a goal of 97% or better average daily attendance.  We are so close!  We are at 96%.  We will need the T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) to reach this goal!

Respectfully,

Principal Kobata

School News

End of Trimester

The first trimester ends next Friday, November 3, 2023.  It will be a minimum day with dismissal at 11:55 am for all students.

Restriping on Hans Avenue

Please drive carefully, or better yet, walk or roll to school in the next few weeks as the City will be doing work on the roads to improve safety and visibility. The neighborhood around our school will get new crosswalk and lane striping on approximately October 27th-November 8th.  The striping will be painted on Hans Avenue starting at Alison Avenue and ending on Phyllis Avenue.  Work will begin after drop-off and pause during pick-up time.  The schedule is subject to change. The re-striping work can last up to 5 days, in some cases a bit longer, and will likely cause delays for vehicle traffic.

Winter Clothes Donations

It's finally time to get the warm clothes out of the closet!  If you find items that are too small for your kids, or you just don't want them anymore, please bring them to the Bubb office and we will find them a good home.  Baby and adult clothes are also needed.
Clean and gently used clothes only, please.  Nothing with stains or permanent damage.   We will donate these items to families in need in our community.  We will be collecting donations until Friday, November 3, 2023.  Thank you!

Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found rack is getting full! Check to see if you can find your student’s sweater, jacket or water bottle. It is located on the main hallway near Room 13. All parents are encouraged to label their child’s clothing with the student’s initials and room number. All unclaimed items are donated to charity at the end of the trimester.
