Principal’s Message

Hi Families!

December 10th marks the 75th anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights. The Declaration of Human Rights is a monumental testament to the shared values of equality, dignity, and justice for all individuals around the world.  This document serves as a beacon of hope, guiding our efforts towards creating a world where every person is entitled to fundamental rights and freedoms regardless of race, gender, religion, or any other status.

At Bubb, we believe that students, staff, and parents are respected, valued and provided with a safe space to learn, grow, and thrive.  We encourage empathy, tolerance, and a commitment to allyship.  Together Everyone Achieves More.  Thanks to all you for being an active participant in our T.E.A.M.!

As the winter holidays approach, we want to remind you that students will continue important lessons and it is important that they attend school each day so they don’t miss out. This is also an exciting time with school performances and other fun activities that you don’t want your child to miss out on. Make sure that they are at school every day so they can take part.

We know many families enjoy traveling during the holiday break. As a reminder, the winter break is December 23- January 8. Please ensure you do not take your child out of school before that time. Please ensure they are back at school on Tuesday, January 9. Have a safe and enjoyable break!

Please don’t forget that on Wednesday, December 13th, at 8:10am, there will be a Principal’s Coffee.  We will be discussing the latest data.  Please come and enjoy coffee and some light pastries.

School Perimeter Gates

For student and staff safety, the perimeter gates are locked during school hours. Once the morning bell has rung at 8:00 am, students must enter using the front office and obtain a tardy slip. During school hours, visitors must enter and check in at the front office. The gates will be unlocked for student pick-up at the end of the day.The public will continue to have access to school fields on weekends and on weekday evenings after 4 p.m. at elementary schools and after 5 p.m. at middle schools.  If the gates malfunction after hours, you can call (650) 526-3248 x1004. Thank you for supporting our safety procedures.

Reporting absences

To report an absence, call the office at (650) 526-3480 and press 2, or email [email protected].  Provide the following information:

  • Date of absence

  • Student’s name

  • Room number

  • Reason for absence

  • Name and relationship of the person reporting the absence.

It is very important, for safety reasons, that we know the reason why a student is not present at school.

Short-Term Independent Studies

Family vacations should be planned outside the school year.  Please make every effort to schedule around our instructional calendar.  If your plans should include your child missing 3-14 days of school, please email Principal Kobata and your students' classroom teacher to discuss a short-term independent studies contract to minimize the impact of missed school days.

PTA News

Thank You for a Successful Book Fair!

Our Scholastic Book Fair was a resounding success! The reward for hosting a Book Fair and gifting each student a book, is watching our kids discover new books. All that joy wouldn’t be possible without volunteers from our school community – we share special thanks with them for their work at the book fair last week.

If your child missed out on the Fair (or already finished their new book), there’s still time to shop! Our Book Fair will continue online through December 10. Your online purchases benefit our school. Click to shop our Fair:
