Dear Families,

Reporting absences

To report an absence, call the office at (650) 526-3480 and press 2, or email [email protected].  Provide the following information: date of absence, student’s name, room number, reason for absence, and name and relationship of the person reporting the absence. It is very important, for safety reasons, that we know the reason why a student is not present at school.

Early Pick Up

If your child must leave early, an adult must come to the office and sign the student out. For security reasons, no one is allowed to go to the classroom to pick up students. The office will call the classroom to have the child come up to the office.  Students are released only to persons on the emergency card, unless we have a written note or a phone call from a parent whom we can identify. Kindergarten parents must notify the teacher if there is a change in the pickup person.

Water Bottles

Students must bring at least one filled water bottle from home daily.  Students may unmask and drink water from the doorway or right outside the classroom.  Students may refill their water bottles in the classroom sink or any other designated running water stationAdditional water bottles will not be provided by school.

PTA News

Project Cornerstone in 2023-24

YMCA Project Cornerstone is a community initiative with the mission to create an environment where adults support and value all youth so they grow up feeling valued, respected, and known. We had a great year last year, having monthly in-person Project Cornerstone lessons in all classrooms, led by a committed team of parent volunteer readers. We are looking forward to a new year of great books and lessons - the theme for this year is Empathy. Reader sign ups opened Tuesday 8/8 and close at the end of the school day on Friday 8/18. The sign up link is available on the Bubb PTA website here. Reader sign ups will be limited to two readers per classroom. If there are more than two readers signed up, we will offer you the opportunity to read in another room, or allocate readers using a lottery for that room. Thank you for your support of the Project Cornerstone program at Bubb, helping us to create a positive school climate for all our kids.
