After-School Activities

Art Club

An instructor from the Community School of Music and Art (CSMA) leads theme-based art projects exploring various styles and mediums. Open to K-5th graders. [Kinder, 1-2 grades, 3-5 grades]

Basketball

1on1Basketball coaches a weekly basketball clinic for girls and boys, divided into Kinders-2nd graders and 3th-5thgraders. [English, Spanish]

Chess Club

Offered by Success Chess, 1st through 5th graders learn through in-class teacher-led activities, as well as play tournaments and games with classmates. Open to 1st-5th graders. [English]

Chorus

Taught by a CSMA music teacher, students will learn fun songs while gaining the fundamentals of singing. They will perform at special events during the year, and will join other district choruses in May at the ChoralFest at Shoreline Amphitheatre. Open to 2nd-5th graders. [Combined Flyer]

Drama

Pennisula Youth Theatre (PYT) directs a School Play In A Box class, where students will learn the basics of acting, character development, storytelling and theater terminology while having fun rehearsing a play. Open to 2nd-5th graders. [English]

French

Classes are available twice a week for both native French-speakers and beginners. Instruction is provided by French Education Française Bay Area. Open to K-5th graders. [English, Spanish]

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is a fun, life-changing, after-school program for 3rd - 5th grade girls. The 10-week program teaches girls life skills such as confidence, how to be a good friend and how to stand up for themselves and others while inspiring them to be joyful, healthy and confident by using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. This spring, Girls on the Run will run at Bubb for 10 weeks, starting on February 29, 2016 through mid-May (lessons are twice weekly in the afternoons), and will culminate in a very fun 5K event in Vasona Park in Los Gatos. Robotics Club

Come learn the art & science of building robots in Wizbots Robotics Lab! BUILD with LEGO® MINDSTORMS® and more, CODE your robots in Java, and PLAY our “Path to Mastery” game. You’ll journey from Novice towards Master, tackling new project challenges with each move. You'll learn engineering, programming, math & physics in a completely hands-on way. And, parents get to view and share their child's project videos online! Open to 3rd-5th graders. [Spring 2017]

Soccer

Coach Ken leads after-school soccer lessons for Grades K-5th, where players focus on skill development and fun. [Spring 2017

Tennis

Offered through Benchmark Tennis. Students will learn tennis though USPTA / PTR recommended 12 and Under tennis standards.  Trained tennis professionals will encourage, emphasize, and ensure each player has the opportunity to have fun and participate in game-based drills and develop simple racquet skills. Open to K-4th graders. [Spring 2017]

 

Enrichment for All

Thanks to the fundraising efforts of our PTA, every 3rd-5th grade student has the opportunity to participate in a fun and engaging after-school program free of charge through our Enrichment for All initiative!  

For 2017, students may choose between:

  • Kidizens: Build a City
  • Let's Play in Spanish
  • Communication Academy: Debate
  • CS First (computer coding)
  • Young Inklings (creative writing)
  • Imagineerz (engineering design challenges)

More details about Enrichment for All will be sent home with 3rd-5th graders on Back to School Night.
