February 2, 2022 Bulletin

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE:

Dear Families,

Chuc Mung Nam Moi!  (Happy New Year in Vietnamese.)  Check out the dragon that our Kindergartners made:

February is also Black History Month.  2nd and 3rd graders from Rooms 7 and 11 collaborated on this Black History Month Quilt, commemorating the influence that African Americans have had on our country.  Next week, students will have the opportunity to learn about these influential Americans and to create their own mini-quilt during lunch recess.

We want to hear from you–LCAP survey is happening now!  Our school district is beginning its annual process of updating the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan). The input collected from this survey will guide updates to our District plan for the 2022-23 school year. Please join me during one of the following meetings to learn more about the LCAP process:

  • SSC and ELAC Meeting, 2/7 @ 4:00 pm (Zoom link)

February Better Together Infographic

In the month of February, there is much to celebrate and acknowledge. The Lunar New Year reminds us of the power of rebirth and renewal, while Black History Month gives us the opportunity to recognize the resilience of those on the shoulders we stand, along with the cultural richness of those identifying as Black in America and across the world. Heritage months grant us the opportunity to highlight the history of oppressed groups and their fight towards equality, but renewal and Black excellence transcend just this month. However we celebrate, we are #BetterTogether.
