Principal’s Message

Dear Bubb Families,

Friday is the end of trimester #2 and the start of our Mid-Winter Break!  This Friday will also be Valentine’s Day and our PTA class parents have many lovely celebrations planned.  It will be a great kick-off to our holiday and observance of President’s Day.

It is LCAP time, and I have been reflecting on Bubb’s initiatives this year.  We launched attendance recognition, Cub Kudos raffle, added a counselor and ARIS to our staff, we have brought back in person morning meetings, and we have aligned SEL, Project Cornerstone, and Better Together. We have worked closely with the PTA to bring events such as Heritage Months and fun events like Walkathon and Monster Mash.  We have successfully implemented Amplify in ELA and have seen growth in our students. We have responsive RTI and WIN with all staff taking small groups of students to target instruction.  We have introduced team teaching in our SAI classes, we have had coding sessions on campus, and we have author visits in the near future.  In just half of a school year, we really have demonstrated:  Together we grow.  Together we Soar.   I am looking forward to reviewing our LCAP feedback.  Our staff and students (grades 4-5) have submitted their responses.  And our families are a vital voice in the plan.  Bubb is committed to being a great community!

We will also end Black History Month with a special lunch time event with the PTA and our counselor Ms. Kiera.  Students will have the opportunity to learn from Ms. Kiera on Tuesday February 24.

Have a great break!

In Community,

Principal Jung

What if they didn’t get a link in their email?

Parents can access the survey in the Powerschool Parent Portal. When they sign in, the link to the survey will be located here on the left in the navigation menu.

What if parents want to complete a paper survey?

Better Together: February

Black History Month provides MVWSD with a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the rich contributions and achievements of African Americans while fostering a deeper sense of community among our students, staff, and families. By learning about influential Black leaders, innovators, and community helpers - from local civil rights activists to Black educators, doctors, and entrepreneurs who shaped our neighborhood - students develop a broader understanding of how diverse voices and experiences have strengthened our community. Last week, the Board of Trustees passed a resolution honoring February as Black History Month. For more information about Better Together, visit mvwsd.org/BetterTogetherMVWSD.
