PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Families,

It’s hard to believe that we are closing out our first trimester of school!  Thank you for your continued support--your children have learned so much from how you are navigating our current situation with grace, flexibility, and empathy.  I want to celebrate our students--they have persevered through distance learning and show us daily how responsible, kind, and hardworking they are.  Finally, a huge thank you to our staff, who have undertaken the Herculean task of creating warm virtual classrooms in which students are able to make connections, continue to progress through grade level standards, and experience memorable moments.  As a reminder, Friday is the last day of the trimester, with dismissal at 11:20.  First trimester progress reports will be sent electronically on 11/20.

The Bubb Read-a-Thon started this week!  The Read-A-Thon and Silent Auction will be our PTA’s major fundraiser for the year.  Many of our students have recorded themselves reading books aloud and are submitting in their Seesaw classrooms (K-2) or through this Google Form (K-5).  Students can listen to other students’ read alouds in our Bubb Virtual Library.  (Students can only view the library when logged into their MVWSD accounts.)  Please join us this Sunday, November 8th @ 6:30 pm for our Pajama Jam Reading Night!  Some Bubb staff members and I will bring some books to share.  Wear your jammies and bring some hot chocolate or snacks!  Register for the virtual Pajama Jam here.  More information about how students can log their reading minutes and fundraise for Bubb are on the Bubb PTA website.

Some reminders and updates:

*No School on Wednesday, November 11th in honor of Veterans Day.  Next week’s Dashboard will only include the schedule for the week, since there is no asynchronous learning day.

*Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for the week of January 11th, 2021, as indicated on the MVWSD Calendar.

*Reminder: Senate Bill 820 prohibits any person, including parents, from making any audio, video, or digital recording of our school’s live or synchronous distance learning instruction without the prior consent of the teacher and myself.

Have a wonderful week!

In partnership,

Principal Cyndee
